Stricter alcohol limit

The stricter alcohol limit for professional drivers will apply from January 1, 2015 . The maximum permitted alcohol concentration for truck and bus drivers (driving license categories C and D) is then 0.2 per mille. This limit also applies to those who professionally transport persons for whom the same medical criteria apply as for truck and bus drivers. Think of taxi drivers, drivers of minibuses or student transport. However, the lower permille does not apply to them for private trips. Also driving instructors who give driving lessons or are about to give driving lessons must adhere to stricter alcohol rules. They may be banned from driving for 2 hours (from the date of determination) if the breath analysis measures an alcohol concentration of at least 0.09 milligrams and less than 0.22 milligrams per liter of exhaled alveolar air or if the breath analysis cannot be performed and the breath test indicates an alcohol concentration of at least 0.09 milligrams and less than 0.22 milligrams per liter of exhaled alveolar air.

Also new from 2015 is that drivers whose alcohol concentration is measured of at least 0.09 milligrams and less than 0.22 milligrams per liter of exhaled air always receive a proposal for immediate collection.

Not only will the stricter alcohol limit come into effect on January 1, 2015, the provisions of the law of March 9, 2014 on the punishment of repeat offenders . Finally, from 2015 it will be possible to revoke the suspension or (probation) suspension for a violation of the Road Traffic Act or its implementing decrees if the person concerned has committed a new offense during the probation period. The same applies to the postponement and the probation delay.
